How to get a better night sleep;

Friday, 5 May 2017

Hello Lovelies;

I'm pretty sure you've all heard the term 'beauty sleep,' before - well I thought I would write a little post about how I sleep and how I have learnt to get a better nights rest.

I am a working mum - I do nights so when I do sleep I cherish every second. I found there are some great ways to help you settled down and feel more rested.

First thing I do is plan the day ahead as much as I can the night before - Clothes ready (weather permitting), bags ready, lunch etc...I think it allows you to feel more relaxed at night and in the morning as you haven't got to wake up earlier and cram 50 things into your morning before work, school runs etc...

I roughly get around 8 hours sleep every night - planning to go to bed for a certain time helps your body get into a routine, just as it does when you have to get up in the morning. I start getting ready for bed around 9.30, and I'm in bed for 10 so I can get up at 7 when my alarm goes off.

I do struggle to fall asleep, I am a worrier, so as I mentioned planning ahead helps, but I also have a diffuser in my room, one that I can put essential oils in which makes the room smell lovely and relaxing without worrying about a candle perhaps. My favourite relaxing scent is peppermint - though everyone has a different one - I know my mum loves using Lavender to relax.

Having a 4 year old who does still wake in the night, does mean my sleep gets broken. He usually falls back asleep but (this is a mummy tip...) I get used to his routine. You tend to know why your kids wake up, and Alec does go to the bathroom in the night but not alone, so when he's unsettled I know it's either 'bathroom, wants a drink....' it's usually those two things - there are exceptions where maybe he's ill or having a bad night, but just making sure he has a bottle, goes to the bathroom before he goes to bed just makes up both sleep better.

Exercise - It's a proven fact that the more you exercise and do in the day, it's easier to fall asleep. Swimming and even walking are simple exercises that can help you sleep a lot better.

Adjustamatic is also a great way to help you sleep a lot better. Being able to adjust your bed to suit whatever position you're in leads for a comfier and all round better sleep.  It also helps a lot if you suffer from back pain, neck pain etc..

How do you sleep?
Do you have any tips on how to get a better night sleep?

First purchases of 2017;

Monday, 9 January 2017

Hello Lovelies;

Welcome to 2017! Yes, this is my first post of 2017 and I will be getting back into the swing of blogging. To start off with - I've only got one new years resolution - Make 2017 better than 2016. I could go into sub categories but that's my over all aim for everyone xD

I did do a few purchases in the sales, some were normal buys as well. Firstly, I bought this gorgeous plants and cat print from Amber Davenport on Etsy - I've always wanted to have lots of prints but for now I have this lovely 5 x 7" one which I am sure will be the first of many. Please go check her out HERE! She has some lovely prints.

Next was a little H&M order - I really mean little. I was gutted I missed the Banana leaf print style they sold last year, so now it's back I purchased a 50x50 pillow case and some little coasters to go with it. I do love the floral and fauna styles - as long as it isn't too girly.

My Vivienne Westwood Card Holder has seen better days, and I decided to purchase this gorgeous leather cardholder from Warehouse - it's a brand that I've been purchasing from more and more. I got my latest tote bag from them and whilst it was in the sales, it wasn't in 2017. It fits 8 cards which is great if you have basic, everyday cards like bank, ID, oyster and a few point cards.

I finally purchased the Urban Outfitters 'Reasons,' beanie - I've been eyeing it up for so long. I really don't suit sunglasses or hats, so for around £25 and it not looking nice I just didn't want to waste that money. I did get it, and it does look nice. It's going to take some growing on me though xD

This is an Ebay purchase coming at you - the Zara Grid Scarf has been back this winter and I've wanted it ever since it was sold out last year. I decided to trail into eBay and find out, and yeah, I love it! I love all their blanket scarves. You do have to pair this one a little better with your clothes, it isn't a simple throw on one like their tartan designs but it's still gorgeous.

Lastly is an item I cannot live without...A diary from Paperchase. I honestly couldn't survive without a diary. I went with this Stag water colour like one and I do love it. It was on sale and it's an A5 since which isn't too small or big. Just perfect for appointments, birthdays, holidays etc..

I haven't bought any beauty - which was surprising for me. I have been wearing the same make up for weeks and my lips have been so sore that I haven't been changing up my lipstick either. I will be starting some new threads so 'CRINGES" watch this space! :D

Have you bought anything in the sales?
Do you see anything you'd like to purchase in my little list?

Casual Sweat(pants);

Thursday, 13 October 2016

Hello Lovelies;

If you said to me a few weeks ago that I would be wearing sweat pants for a casual outfit I would never believe you - They are incredibly comfy and I have found the perfect look which leaves me comfortable, warm and stylish.

Paring some sweats with converse, a tee and a leather jacket is the perfect casual look - Depending on the colour sweats you have, you can change your top colour. I love wearing grey sweats with a white slogan top - These ones are from New Look, with this oversized and casual Topshop slogan tee it looks perfect - Wearing converse and a leather jacket makes it a bit more casual - Less gym like. I've grown up with people wearing full on top and bottom tracksuits which really put me off (unless I was working out or wearing lounge wear).

You can also opt for some darker grey marl sweats to pair with a plain black tee, converse and a leather jacket for another look.

I an going to grow my sweats collection and it will be perfect for a more comfortable day or a lazy Sunday/lazy days. I will be wearing this outfit a lot more often - especially for my lazy days when I don't want to wear boots and skinny jeans. xD

Do you like this look?
Would you wear casual sweats?
